Erin Vermilye, Executive Director

Erin Vermilye brings more than 25 years of experience advancing the policing profession through leadership, strategy, and organizational development. She has built a career at the intersection of law enforcement, nonprofit leadership, and public trust, with a deep and enduring commitment to supporting officers, strengthening institutions, and improving outcomes for communities.
Most recently, Erin served as Senior Director of Strategy and Engagement at the National Policing Institute, where she helped reposition the organization as a national leader in evidence-based policing. Her work focused on strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, communications, and development, driving clarity of mission, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.
Previously, Erin held senior leadership roles at Axon Enterprise and spent 18 years at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), where she rose through the organization to become the first non-sworn female director. At IACP, she led large multidisciplinary teams, managed a $22 million budget, oversaw high-impact professional development and wellness initiatives, and helped shape national and international policing priorities.
Erin is deeply passionate about supporting the men and women who serve in law enforcement and is honored to lead the Foundation’s efforts to create meaningful, lasting impact in officer health and wellness.
